Landmark Handheld Field Operator 2003.4.2

This release introduces the Handheld Field Operator. The Handheld
Field Operator was created to capture daily data from the field and
should be used in conjunction with Landmark’s TOW/cs application.
Once the data has been sent from the Pocket PC, TOW/cs will provide
the functions of a production accounting system at the corporate level.
The Handheld Field Operator employs a publisher/reporter concept as a
means to get data from the field to the corporate office then back again
to the field. The publisher database is the head office database and
usually has the following characteristics:

• Corporate database containing historical data
• Location where final monthly allocations are performed
• Interface point to the revenue system
• Source for regulatory reporting numbers
• Field reporter databases are created from data subsets

Reporter databases are created as a subset of data from the publisher
database and sent to the field. Data from the field is entered into the
reporter database. The reporter database is kept synchronized
with data in the publisher database through send/receive processes.
