HyproTech DISTIL 5.0

An innovative approach to Distillation Synthesis. DISTIL focuses on the synthesis of distillation column sequences for multi-component systems, including azeotropic mixtures and provides separation insights in an integrated and interactive environment. DISTIL enables a rapid screening of Complex Column configurations such as divided wall columns and thermally coupled columns. DISTIL also combines comprehensive data regression with access to thermodynamic databases. DISTIL offers a systematic approach to distillation synthesis, allowing the user to quickly identify the best design alternatives, improve process understanding and reduce design time. With the current functionality, users can automatically generate all the feasible column sequences for a multi-component feed and perform preliminary design for the distillation columns. Additionally, designs produced in DISTIL can be automatically simulated in HYSYS.Process/Plant, eliminating the time-consuming task of re-entering information. Identify distillation boundaries and regions for multi-component mixtures. Calculate residue curves for multi-component mixtures and plot the maps for ternary and quaternary systems. Column Design Design binary and complex ternary distillation columns, including side products and columns with decanters. Investigate possible barriers to the required separation, generate feasible process alternatives, and choose the best design based on the available information. Column Sequencing Automatically find feasible column sequences that separate multi- component azeotropic and non-azeotropic mixtures into pure products. Quickly identify the best design alternatives, improve process understanding and reduce design time. Complex Columns Distil provides a general framework for the synthesis, design and analysis of complex columns to separate a multi-component feed stream into specified products. Sensitivity Analysis can be performed to study the variation in the performance parameter(s) of the configuration when operating pressure, R/Rmin, feed quality and feed flowrate change in a specified range.
