nCode DesignLife
Enhanced Accuracy of Weld Analysis
WholeLife introduces methods available for the first time in CAE-based analysis software. The unique methodology behind WholeLife brings a unified approach encompassing the complete failure process, providing a solution for more accurate determination of weld lives for complex geometries.

Performance Improvements
nCode DesignLife has impressive gains in performance in the translation stage where the use of thread licences is now enabled to allow translation in a number of separate processes.

Test and CAE Correlation Enhanced
DesignLife includes a new Virtual Sensor capability to place \”sensors\” on an finite element model. These sensors can be used to extract the displacement of these locations under simulated real-time loading conditions. These displacements can be used for general correlation with measured test data and can simplify the process of comparing with vibration mode shapes in NVH studies.

nCode GlyphWorks

Usability Enhancements
nCode 2018 offers enhanced display capabilities in GlyphWorks, allowing engineers to draw conclusions faster and easier from displaying data. A new option in the Running Statistics glyph enables engineers to assess how a given metric evolves on an event by event basis.

Supported File Formats
nCode GlyphWorks offers improvements in interfacing with measured data. This includes the ability to seamlessly read ASCII files in a workflow. Additional file formats for import are also supported, with a primary focus on streamlining customer monitoring and ADAS validation activities by reading native data coming from vehicle networks.

Test and CAE Correlation Enhanced
A new Stress-Strain Conversion glyph has been added to the Fatigue option allowing the conversion of linear strain to elasto-plastic strains and vice versa, facilitating the comparison between measured and virtual stains.

nCode VibeSys

International Standards Added
nCode VibeSys now includes the vibration curves from the ISO 16750-3:2012 in the Vibration Manager, enabling engineers to compare the severity of a synthesized qualification test with the requirements from the standard. This ISO standard is specific to electrical and electronic equipment in road vehicles.

Display Enhancements
Improvements made to the ODS Display ensures mapping was done correctly by offering two new properties used to mark mapped nodes using fixed (triangles) or displaced nodes (triads). Channel numbers can also be plotted next to displaced nodes.
