Improved graphene modeling in FDTD Solutions and MODE Solutions uses a surface conductivity model combined with a new 2D surface primitive to dramatically reduce simulation time and improve predictive capabilities
• A one-dimensional traveling wave laser model in INTERCONNECT provides a self-consistent framework to account for the complex interactions of semiconductor lasers tightly integrated with photonic integrated circuits
• New model library management features in INTERCONNECT allow for the secure generation and sharing of a compact model library which contains advanced frequency- and time-domain photonic circuit models
• The dataset builder in DEVICE, FDTD Solutions and MODE Solutions allows designers to define complex structures with spatially-varying material properties, including doping profiles, generated by other software tools, modeling frameworks, and TCAD process simulators
