Autodesk Inc., a world leader in 3D design software for entertainment, natural resources, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and civil infrastructure, announced the release of Simulation Moldflow CAD Doctor 2016, is a powerful tool for checking, correcting, healing, and simplifying solid models imported from popular 3D CAD systems in preparation for analysis using Moldflow Plastics Advisers or Moldflow Plastics Insight.
Autodesk Simulation Moldflow CAD Doctor has long been a staple in a Simulation Moldflow Insight users process, specifically for easily fixing or modifying CAD geometry to make it suitable for meshing. With the new release of Simulation Moldflow CAD Doctor and Simulation Moldflow Insight though, a new process has been included to streamline this process and improve the quality of the final product.
The following feature has been added to CAD Doctor 2016:
– Self-intersecting shells
– A new option is now available that, when selected, checks for self-intersecting shells.
Moldflow CAD Doctor supports the import of IGES and CATIA V4 formats. Additionally, Moldflow CAD Doctor interfaces with Moldflow Design Link to allow for the import of CATIA V5, Parasolid, Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks, and STEP models.
