OPEN MIND hyperMILL 2011

ntelligent Solutions. Save time.

hyperMILL® 2011 offers new, intelligent solutions that help enterprises with greater efficiency in manufactoring.

64-bit support: For increased performance and process reliability

hyperMILL®’s 64-bit architecture increases the amount of available memory. This improves performance, especially when creating programs for large parts. Calculations in particular are run with additional stability. 64-bit support furthermore provides full use of multi-core processors.

Report designer

hyperMILL® 2011 allows users to predefine job- and tool-list-based reports for the purpose of analysing and documenting machining jobs. With the new report designer, these reports can be created from scratch to suit individual requirements or company guidelines. Existing reports can also be adapted. Form creation and adaptation are fully menudriven.

Machine and removal simulation

Integrated machine simulation permits the use of stored machine models to start the simulation directly from within the hyperMILL® job list. Depending on the requirements, this can include a single job, multiple jobs or the entire job list. Material removal can also be simulated. Collision checking is available at every stage of programming.

Generic hole feature

The generic hole feature is a new feature type in hyperMILL® intended for 2D and 5axis drilling. With this functionality, holes can now be programmed within a single feature. This facilitates an even greater degree of automation. Specifically, holes no longer need to be classified as simple holes, sink holes or free holes. Instead, they can be defined with multiple steps, countersinks and/or grooves.

Intelligent macros

Intelligent macros are designed as a tool for automatic programming. Previous hyperMILL® macros collate machining strategies, tools and technology data for the purpose of machining specific features. The new intelligent macros complement this concept with a set of rules that specify when a machining strategy is executed in reference to the geometry data.

Tool database

Support for turning tools facilitates seamless, efficient tool management for all turning and milling jobs. The following turning tools are available:

Turning tool
Grooving tool
Axial grooving tool
Thread cutting tool

Turning tools are assembled from tool holders and tool inserts.

NC event

In hyperMILL®, the NC event is a browser element. NC events let users adapt programs to specific situations by adding commands – it is independent from jobs and job lists. With this browser element, entering commands and restructuring programs becomes fast and easy.
