Gas Turbine Simulation Program – GSP is a component based modeling environment and is the main tool used by NLR for performance analysis of gas turbine engines. GSP's flexible object-oriented architecture allows for steady-state and transient simulation of any gas turbine configuration using a user-friendly drag and drop interface running under MS-Windows. Simulate gas turbine configuration by creating a specific arrangement of engine component models in the model window.

GSP is a universal modeling tool that can model almost all gas turbine engine configurations, including external loads such as circuit breakers, pumps, generators, etc. GSP is mainly based on zero dimensional modeling of gas turbine thermodynamic cycles. This indicates that the flow attributes are averaged across the cross-section of the flow at the interface level of the component model (input and output). GSP uses component model stacking to create the required engine thermodynamic cycles. The input is the model configuration, cycle design, or any known reference point (or preferably a few points) of the new engine. The information required for cycle configuration, such as turbine and compressor drawings, can be easily obtained from the manufacturer or on the internet (such as manufacturer's instruction manuals, ASME documents, etc.).
