SPI SheetMetalWorks Version 2013 again fulfills numerous customer‘s demands that have been transmitted to our developer‘s department. The most impressing enhancements certainly concern several possibilities of treating freeform surfaces and the new commands in connection with the design of ball corners. In the context of freeform surfaces SPI SheetMetalWorks enables you to design a slightly different \”alternative freeform model\”. Therefore the unfolding of freeform surfaces and the facet attributes have been basically reworked. SheetMetalWorks 2013 offers a wide range of controlling means to affect the unfold result. The manufacturing info attributes have been enhanced in the new version. You have the choice to opt for different representations, e. g. for subsequent NC programming it is possible to let interpret the transferred text information as a Tool-ID. The height of a text can now be chosen from case to case. By the help of the new command sketch attributes for each unused sketch you can now define whether it is transferred as a real cut or – as formerly usual – as an engraving. Within the unfolding parameters dialogue the properties of GEO line colors can now be defined to be invisible. The properties of DXF lines can now be allocated to the new layer SPI_UNF-HID. In that way you control whether specific element types are visible. Edges of bending zones and the bending line table can be suppressed using that option. The numeric control file for Cybelec has been enhanced to support Bystronic bending machines. The SPI Component Manager 2013 offers several new components.

That\’s new with version 2013
The new Version 2013 provides commands to design and unfold ball corners (comp. figure on the left).
Unfolding of freeform surfaces and facet attributes support enhanced functionality.
Manufacturing Info Attributes a. o. enable tool identification. A new command Sketch Attribute allows for the design of open contours as real cuts.
Parts of the unfolding (e.g. markings, bending lines, bendig marks, etc.) can be suppressed for GEO- resp. DXF-export.
In the GEO- and DXF-export context document properties and other properties of a part can be transferred to the unfold file.
With release 2013 the SPI software supports Bystronic bending machines.
