2011 GENERAL RELEASE CDROM (2011.102.G)
This is the General Release of the CMG Software for 2011. This release
will install all of the 2011.10 versions of the different products.
The following features have been added to the General release:
– Launcher can import and export scheduler settings.
– Builder can uplayer the reservoir in an intuitive manner and show the
user geologic boundaries. The FlexWell Event Scheduler has been updated
to allow the user to change the well status through the scheduler. Builder
allows the user to retain property modifications (by keeping the MOD
keyword) when re-calculating property values. It is also possible to add
non-uniform refinement in Builder.
– Support for new simulator keywords has been added to Builder/Results,
but a number of these keywords are not available through the interface.
For example, Builder will only read in and write out the new REPLACE
and FCD related keywords for FlexWell datasets.
– WinProp has a more intuitive interface, making it easier to create a
WinProp dataset and view the results.

REPRISE VERSION 9.0
As of the 2011 Release, all CMGL software will require version 9.0
of the RLM License Server Administration on the license server.
Installing the 2011 General Release CDROM will automatically upgrade RLM
to version 9.0.

INSTALLING .NET 2.0 AND LAUNCHER
Launcher 2011 requires the .Net Framework version 2.0. If this is not
already installed on your computer, you may specify during the
installation whether you wish to install it or not. If you choose not
to install .Net Framework 2.0, the installation will install the 2007
version of Launcher instead of Launcher 2011.
If the .Net Framework 2.0 is already installed on your computer,
Launcher 2011 will be installed automatically.
When Launcher 2007 is installed, no icons are installed by default. Users
must add icons manually using the Program -> Add Icons menu.

SUPPORT FOR UAC ON MICROSOFT VISTA AND WINDOWS 7
CMGL software is supported on Microsoft Vista Professional x64
Edition and Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise. It is not supported for other
editions/platforms of Vista or Windows 7.
The Reprise License Server Administration Utility must be run with
Administrator privileges.
All other applications will run with User Account Control (UAC) enabled
if they have been installed using the CMG setup program.

AUTOMATICALLY RETURNING LICENSES FOR CRASHED APPLICATIONS
In most situations, a CMG application will return a license to the
license pool if it terminates abnormally, but through a combination of
factors (such as a network outage) the License Server may not be
notified of the application exit.
As of the 2009 release, CMG applications regularly ping the License Server
while they are active. You may configure the License Server to
automatically return licenses to the pool if the application ping has
ceased for a configurable length of time. You may do this by adding the
following line to the cmgl.opt options file:
TIMEOUTALL
For example, TIMEOUTALL 600 will check a license back to the pool if
the application ping hasn抰 been heard from in 10 minutes.
If a running application抯 license has been checked back into the pool,
the application will attempt to check it back out again. If it cannot
successfully check the license back out again in 30 minutes, the
application exits.

LIMITATIONS TO THE HYDRAULICALLY FRACTURED WELLS FEATURE
When creating a fracture or SRV at a date later than the simulation
start date, Builder will add the refined grid definition at the
simulation start date. The fracture properties, however, will be
implemented at the actual fracture date. This will not affect the
numerical results when the dataset is simulated but it may cause the
simulation to run slightly slower due to the increased number of grid
blocks.

LIMITATIONS TO THE FLEXWELLS FEATURE IN BUILDER
It is highly recommended that DE-ACTIVATION of a FlexWell at its
definition date be done through a text editor to avoid problems such
as Well Events keywords repetition. If a dataset already has a
FlexWell defined such that it is DE-ACTIVATATED at its definition
date, then the FlexWell interface does not encounter the negative
behavior mentioned. Furthermore, date shifting upwards should not
be performed so as to avoid FlexWell/Well Events moving past the
FlexWell抯 definition date.

CREATING AVI MOVIES IN 64-BIT VERSION OF RESULTS
The creation of AVI movies in the 64-bit version of Results may
produce a movie file that cannot be read by Windows Media Player.
This problem is likely caused by the codec used for uncompressed
videos. Using compression and selecting an appropriate codec will
in most situations generate a valid movie file.
